E3 2018 has come and gone, and with it is a teaser for the Spider-Man PS4 game which teases the formation of the Sinister Six. The gameplay trailer ended with Spider-Man reacting to an unseen character, and it's possible that it's actually Doctor Octopus.
This was revealed by Rhino voice actor Chris Jai Alex. The original video had been taken down, but thanks to Youtube user Rick Grimes, we have the small clop of Alex confirming the inclusion of Doc Ock.
Though I did enjoy Ock in Spider-Man 2, I was kind of expecting Peter Parker to be reacting to someone else in the trailer. For one, the Green Goblin has larger personal stakes when it comes to Spider-Man; I also wouldn't be surprised if it was Venom that had Peter so worried.
If it did turn out to be Otto Octavius, that would be like seeing Harry Potter stare down someone offscreen only to reveal that it was a secondary villain like Fenrir Greyback. But who knows? Maybe they've done some interesting rewrite with Doc Ock to make him a more fitting rival to the webslinger. They did the same thing with the Vulture for Spider-Man: Homecoming; I don't see why they can't do it for the game.
Spider-Man comes to the PS4 Sept. 7.
