Doctor Doom Director Says Star Trek Might Delay Marvel Villain's Film

It's been a while since we got any updates on the planned Doctor Doom movie but it looks like Noah Hawley still has every intention to pursue the project. Interestingly, the Legion showrunner revealed that the one thing standing between him and the Marvel film is his upcoming Star Trek movie.

Hawley recently spoke to Deadline during the Television Critics Association winter press tour where he offered an update on the Doctor Doom film's status.

"The phone hasn't rung," Hawley said when asked if he has spoken to Marvel Studios about the project.

"I love the script and what I did with it. Marvel seems to have a plan for everything, it would be great if I fell into that plan," Hawley added although he also pointed out that he hasn't been actively pursuing the film.

"I haven't been chasing it, and with Star Trek, it complicates it," Hawley said. Nevertheless, he's waiting for that call. "If the phone rings, I'm in," he concluded.

The Doctor Doom film was initially supposed to be released by 20th Century Fox but is now Disney property after the acquisition. For now, it is unclear if the movie is still happening but we're crossing our fingers that Hawley will have good news in the future.

Hawley is currently developing the fourth Star Trek film which could be yet another sequel of the franchise's current reboot.
