What Is Shiori and Mei's Relationship?
Mei considers Shiori her best friend and always looks out for her. Even Shiori looks up to Mei when she is stuck in life or having trouble dealing with her emotions.
Mei is aware that Shiori kind of likes Jirou who is in a pretend marriage with a gyaru named Akari Watanabe.
She leaves no stone unturned to help and guide Shiori. However, she gets overprotective sometimes.

Does Shiori Like Mei?
Shiori considers Mei a confidante, and one could say that Shiori likes Mei as a close and trusted friend, but not romantically.
As of writing, Shiori is figuring out her feelings for Jirou, so it seems that her love interest is Jirou, not Mei.
In line with that, Mei thinks of Jirou as a slacker and wonders what Shiori sees in him to even consider him a potential lover.
Despite Mei disliking Jirou, she approached him when Shiori collapsed and was taken to the nurse’s room.
She pushed Jirou to meet with her and stay by her side because Shiori was his childhood friend.

Does Mei Like Shiori?
Episode 8 of More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers hinted that Mei is falling for Shiori. There were several moments in the episode that clearly showed that Mei was harboring romantic feelings for her friend.
In More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers Chapter 50, it was revealed again that Mei may have feelings for Shiori.
Mei came to help Shiori with her cheer squad practice. Shiori apologized for calling her because she was already busy with her club training activities.
However, Mei was happy to help as they were getting closer to a tournament and she wanted to get her stamina up.
Shiori told her that she was glad she came for her. Then, Mei blurted out that she wanted to see her in a cute outfit, and she laughed out loud.
But in her head, she wondered if it was her true objective.
Do Shiori and Mei End Up Together?
The manga is not yet finished so it is hard to say if Shiori will forget Jirou and get together with Mei as lovers. While it is hinted that Mei may have feelings for Shiori, it seems to be a one-sided love as Shiori currently likes Jirou.
It will be interesting to see how Mei and Shiori’s bond grows in the upcoming chapters.
