Maou and Emi's Relationship
The premise of The Devil Is a Part-Timer is inextricably linked with Emi and Maou's relationship.
Maou - originally Demon Lord Satan - only ever ended up in modern-day Tokyo because of his defeat by the hero Emilia.
On Earth, Maou managed to do well for himself by working part-time in a fast-food chain, showing an unexpected knack for customer service!
But when Emilia - now Emi Yusa- is also revealed to be trapped on Earth, their rocky relationship takes a turn for the hilarious.
Early in the fantasy anime, Emi and Maou can't get along, though he shows unexpected concern for her, letting her stay over when he has no other place to go.
Emi is surprised to see the shift in Maou's attitude towards her, as he significantly softens from his Demon Lord days and he comes to show little interest in their old conflict. So, could something more be going on?
Do Maou and Emi End Up Together in The Devil is a Part-Timer?
At the time of writing Maou and Emi haven't ended up together; yet.
As an ensemble cast show, The Devil Is a Part-Timer features many possible pairings, though, of course, Emi and Maou are a favorite for many, given how many people love an enemies-to-lovers romance plot.
The Devil is A Part-Timer light novel series does hint at a possible romantic attraction, as Emi's smile makes Maou happy when they meet and before they realize each other's true identities.
So far, the anime hasn't confirmed whether or not they have romantic feelings for each other, though, of course, some scenes between the two might suggest budding romance.
And, of course, there's Alas=Ramus, their appointed daughter, who complicates things even further!

Do Maou or Emi End Up With Anyone Else?
The Devil Is a Part-Timer isn't a romance anime. Yet, some fans wonder who Emi would end up with if not with Maou, or if Maou and Chiho end up together instead.
Chiho does have confirmed romantic feelings for Maou - though she does struggle with his true identity a little bit.
Emi hasn't shown romantic feelings for anyone else, and, cliche as it might seem, enemies to lovers romances are ofter forefronted in this type of story.
So far, of course, none of the possible pairings has happened, so we have to wait for further developments in Season 2!
