Disney World to Add More Hand Sanitizers in Response to Coronavirus

Disney might not be shutting down Walt Disney World, but it looks like the Mickey Mouse House is taking a few precautions against the spreading COVID-19.

According to a report by the Sun Sentinel in Orlando, Walt Disney World in Florida is going to stay open despite the fear of the novel coronavirus. In response to the disease, the House of Mouse has decided to add more hand sanitizers to its Florida park. While Disney hasn't really confirmed how many more hand sanitizers it's going to add to Walt Disney World, the company does say that it is educating its employees to make use of preventive hygiene practices like washing hands and keeping stations sanitized.

While Disney isn't planning to close Walt Disney World, we're certain that the Disney park will see some of the effects of the fear of COVID-19. While the rate at which the novel coronavirus disease can spread varies, the Center for Disease Control says that there could be cases of COVID-19 spreading in theme parks. Experts say that the virus is usually transmitted between people within six feet of each other, especially when there are cough and sneezing. Parks like Walt Disney World have people standing in line shoulder to shoulder hours at a time. Sure, employees may practice preventive hygiene, but we can't really be sure about children really.

Of course, there aren't that many cases of COVID-19 in the US, so closing Walt Disney World and Disneyland wouldn't really be a good move for Disney. We do understand, however, the House of Mouse's decision to close Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disney, and Shanghai Disneyland Park.
