Disney+ to Launch with All Star Wars Films Except Solo and The Last Jedi

One of the biggest hooks for Disney+ is the inclusion of all things Star Wars plus some new original content from a galaxy far far away. News has dropped though, that launch will not include all Star Wars titles.

As per CNet, Disney+ will launch with the complete Original and Prequel Star Wars trilogy plus The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Latter movies like The Last Jedi, Solo, and The Rise of Skywalker are expected to be released sometime within the first year, but they won't be there at launch.

As for series, we're going to be getting both Star Wars Rebels and The Clone Wars. Let's also not forget the main hook of Disney+ for Star Wars fans—Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian. We don't have an official trailer for the show yet, but everyone is expecting something official to drop come the D23 Expo this August.

Let's also not forget the upcoming Cassian Andor series with Diego Luna set to return. We don't have a release window for that yet, but hopefully, we get an idea at the Expo.

This is the synopsis for The Mandalorian:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Disney+ is set to launch on Nov. 12.
