Disney to Announce New Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar Projects This Thursday

COVID-19 has effectively delayed every major studio release this year, but that doesn't mean that Disney hasn't been looking ahead. While the 2020 lineup has been moved to 2021, Disney is going to be revealing another wave of incoming projects within the week.

According to Deadline, Disney is set to have its ‘Investor's Day' this Thursday, December 10, and the studio is set to announce, ‘projects from Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar that will encompass TV as well as theatrical.' As for other Disney projects down the line, there are the live-action adaptations of Pinnochio and Peter Pan, as well as the Emma Stone-fuelled Cruella.

With Marvel's entire Phase 4 slate being pushed back to 2021, I don't imagine that Disney would be so eager to reveal any other upcoming films. Maybe they can give us an update on shows like Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight, but as for movies, I'm not expecting much updates on anything that comes out after Thor: Love and Thunder.

As for Star Wars, we could get an update on the TV series like Kenobi and Andor, but I would also love to know what's in store for the big theatrical releases. Personally, I want an update on Rian Johnson's trilogy, but if Disney doesn't want to pursue that, I guess it's their loss. I just think there's more to SW than nostalgia bait and fanservice.

In the meantime, fans wait for Disney's Investor's Day which takes place on Thursday, December 10.
