Disney Signs Deal Offering BTS Content For Star Wars And Marvel In Cinemas’ Pre-Movie Programming

It looks like Disney's giving early worm movie-goers a little treat.

Movie-goers who arrive in cinemas several minutes right before previews began can get to see Disney's new pre-show slate featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the company's upcoming Star Wars and Marvel movies like Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and a whole lot more.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Mickey Mouse House has just recently partnered with National Cinemadia's Noovie, a rebranded pre-show that's set to launch in cinemas this Friday.

National Cinemedia CEO Andy England said that they made the decision to acquire content from Disney's Marvel and Star Wars franchises because they wanted to "give people a reason to arrive earlier" and that they wanted to "dial up the entertainment value."

Disney's content is going to be mixed in with more or less 20 minutes of pre-movie programming and the company's partnership is set to begin with the premiere of its upcoming animated movie, Coco and is to continue on until June next year.

Noovie will also debut BTS content for films like A Wrinkle in Time, The Incredibles 2, and Han Solo.

While Star Wars fans might dismiss this pre-movie programming by saying that Lucasfilm has already released a behind-the-scenes reel for The Last Jedi, Noovie could also roll out new BTS coverage for the pre-movie showing.

This new move is definitely an enticing deal for moviegoers. Guess we better start going early to our favorite movie showings.
