Disney Set To Release Newest R-Rated Movie Starring Dave Bautista

Disney's always been a family-friendly media conglomerate. But now, for the first time in six years, the Mickey Mouse House will be releasing a new R-rated comedy movie.

Thanks to its acquisition of 21st Century Fox, Disny is now obligated to release Fox movies that were completed or set in production before the Mickey Mouse House purchased the company and its many television and film assets. According to Screen Rant, this means that Disney is going to have to release Stuber, an R-rated comedy starring Ninjago voice actor Kumail Nanjiani and Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista.

While most would expect Disney's first R-Rated movie to be another Deadpool entry, it seems like the studio's first R-rated release in six year's is Stuber which is set to premiere on July 12, 2019.

For those interested in the film, Stuber follows the story of Stu (Nanjiani), a mild-manner Uber driver who ends up going on an adventure with L.A. cop Vic (Bautista) who's trying to complete one of his cases. Stuber is a buddy cop comedy. The film earned its R-rating for violence, language, sexual references and brief nudity.

The last R-rated movie that Disney released was The Fifth Estate which premiered back in 2013. A biographical thriller directed by Bill Condon, the film featured Benedict Cumberbatch as the editor-in-chief of the news-leaking website, Wiki Leaks.

Of course, despite this new development, we've yet to see whether Disney plans to create or release R-Rated films under its other branches like in Marvel or in Star Wars. Let's wait and see.

Stuber releases on July 12, 2019.
