Disney Reportedly Wants Brie Larson For Lucasfilm’s New Star Wars Trilogy

The Skywalker saga might be coming to an end this December with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, however, the franchise remains as bright as ever with two new trilogies and line of live-action series set for Disney's upcoming streaming platform, Disney+.

Now, as fans wait for Lucasfilm to begin marketing The Rise of Skywalker in earnest, a new rumor has come around saying that Disney is hoping to bring Captain Marvel star Brie Larson into Star Wars' galaxy far, far away.

According to a report by We Got This Covered, sources close to Disney have said that the Mickey Mouse House "really wants" the Marvel star to take one of the lead roles in one of the new trilogies being prepared after Episode IX. This could be the trilogy being developed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, or the new trilogy being brought to fans by Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

There might be some weight to this rumor seeing how Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is now developing a brand new film for the Star Wars franchise, however, as with any rumor, we advise fans to take this report with a grain of salt.

Sure, Larson might be interested in becoming a Jedi (the Marvel star has expressed her interest in the franchise multiple times, dressing up as a Jedi at least once on Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge) but we can't really be sure if the actress is going to join Star Wars with her schedule for Marvel.

Let's just wait and see.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
