Disney Pixar’s Soul Gets a New Poster

While I thought we'd have to wait next year for it, Disney Pixar has released their first teaser for Soul, and definitely feels like a mix between Coco and Inside Out. With every new teaser comes promo material, we have the official poster for the movie as well.

It's interesting though, because we have the human Joe (Jamie Foxx) in the center of the poster. With the movie dealing what it's like to be in the afterlife, you'd think we would at least see Joe's soul or his co-star 22 (Tina Fey)?

Seeing that religion is such a hot-button topic, I wonder how Pixar plans to proceed in a film about the afterlife in such a technical manner. Hopefully they have it all figured out, and I'm sure we're also going to have some genuine dramatic moments that you can expect from any Pixar film.

After Toy Story 4, we should expect some more original films from Pixar moving forward. Besides Soul, we're also getting the urban fantasy film Onward starring Chris Pratt and Tom Holland. Let's hope these original films manage to bring Pixar back from its age of Sequel/Prequel-itis.

Here's an official description:

In the film, just when Joe thinks his dream might be in reach, a single unexpected step sends him to a fantastical place where he's is forced to think again about what it truly means to have soul. That's where he meets and ultimately teams up with 22, a soul who doesn't think life on Earth is all it's cracked up to be.

Catch Soul when it comes out on June 19, 2020.
