When word got out that Disney was seemingly bringing back Lucasfilm Games, fans everywhere got excited. Maybe too excited. Fans loved the number of creative titles that came from the company, especially when it became LucasArts, which is when the imagination of games was cranked up to 11. With Disney seemingly bringing back Lucasfilm Games, many thought that this would lead to new games from the beloved developers.
Turns out that's not going to happen, as Disney has made a clarifying statement about this, stating that they are NOT reviving the beloved gaming company. Cue many fans crying their hearts out because that means we're stuck with EA making Star Wars multiplayer games until 2023. Please let Jedi: Fallen Order be good.
Apparently, Disney doesn't plan to bring back Lucasfilm Games as a gaming brand and is just a segment of an existing business that just so happens to share the same name as the LucasArts predecessor. So yeah, we're not getting a Lucasfilm Games revival and that will not lead to LucasArts coming back.
Let's all have a collective *sigh* together.
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is EA's attempt at making a single-player Star Wars game and it's coming out this Fall. Let's hope it's good so we can actually look forward to an EA Star Wars game for once. Star Wars: Battlefront II is now available for those that want some multiplayer mayhem.
