If it wasn't obvious enough, Disney is going all-in with the expansion of their Star Wars Universe and it won't be long until we see beloved characters from other Star Wars lore, including the Expanded Universe make their way on the small and big screens. The House of Mouse's slate is actually quite stacked with the upcoming second season of The Mandalorian and other planned shows like Obi-Wan and a Rogue One spinoff that are already in the works.

According to a report from The Direct, Disney is looking into the possibility of bringing in the famed Sith Lord in a slew of live-action projects. As it stands, we still know very little about the plans but fans can expect them to be either a live-action film or a standalone series for Disney+.

It's looking more and more evident at this point that Disney is planning to take the shared universe approach with Star Wars and why the heck not? We're all very much aware of how it worked wonders for the Marvel Cinematic Universe so the obvious move is to do the same with Star Wars. Quite frankly, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work considering the brand is a formidable franchise and just as lucrative as Marvel. As for the character, Darth Bane is one of the most prominent figures in all of Star Wars and the fact that he's finally getting reintroduced to the current canon is pretty sweet, especially if you followed his exploits in the comics and novels. It's an exciting time to be a fan because the future of the franchise sure looks promising.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian Season 2 is coming to Disney+ on October 30th!
