Disney+ is Coming to Comic-Con@Home with New Marvel Docuseries

Though there won't be an actual Comic-Con happening in San Diego this year, everyone is free to check out the virtual event, Comic-Con@Home. While we're still waiting on the panels incoming for the event, Disney+ has announced that they're bringing in a new Marvel docuseries to showcase for the event.

Here's the official description for Marvel's 616:

Marvel's 616 explores how Marvel's rich legacy of stories, characters and creators exist within the "world outside your window". Each documentary, helmed by a unique filmmaker, explores the intersections of storytelling, pop culture and fandom within the Marvel Universe. Join directors Gillian Jacobs, Paul Scheer and executive producers Sarah Amos and Jason Sterman as they discuss the making of this Disney+ original anthology series with moderator Angélique Roché.

We don't have any official images now, but hopefully CC@H will give us an official trailer. I don't really know what to expect, but I'm thinking this will come out the same way as the Mandalorian docuseries.

Looking at the directors' list though, I'm very interested to see Gillian Jacobs (Community) taking on a directing role. If you know your MCU trivia, a lot of principal actors in Community have made appearances in the MCU already, with Jacobs being one of the few to not have a cameo yet. It's interesting that she would join the Marvel family as a director, and her episode Higher, Further, Faster, no doubt has something to do with Captain Marvel.

Besides Marvel's 616, Disney+ is also going to present Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe, as well as a Nat Geo-scripted series called The Right Stuff. Every fan is hoping we get an update on the MCU miniseries or Star Wars, but nothing has been announced. Hopefully, Disney will make it a surprise when their panel takes place on July 23.

Comic-Con@Home takes place from July 22–26.
