Disney Fans Want Cher and Amanda Seyfried to Star in Live-Action Rapunzel Remake

For the past few years, Disney has been busy producing remaking its films, turning animated classics like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Dumbo, The Jungle Book, and so many others, into live-action movies. As much as fans would want to focus on original movies, we don't really see the Mickey Mouse House quitting its lucrative live-action remake business anytime soon.

Last week, the studio announced its plans to develop a live-action remake of the Rapunzel fairy tale, and everyone's thinking that Disney might make Tangled the blueprint for the movie. Now, it seems like everyone's busy naming the celebrities that they want to play Mother Gothel and Rapunzel, and it looks like Cher and Amanda Seyfried are on top of the list.

Taking to Twitter, Disney fans have begun fan-casting the Tangled characters on Twitter, and according to one fan, Mamma Mia stars Cher and Amanda Seyfriend would be perfect for the part.

A Disney fan decided to pitch their names on the social media platform, putting a picture of Cher and Seyfried right next to a picture of Rapunzel with her Mother Gothel.

The tweet has since gone viral, earning close to three hundred thousand likes on Twitter and generating more than sixty-two thousand conversations on the social media site. The attention is valid, of course. Cher and Seyfriend don't just have the looks, they also have the acting and singing chops for the role. We hope that Disney considers them – if the studio is going turn Tangled into its blueprint for its Rapunzel remake.
