It can't be denied that the Russo brothers are among the people responsible for making the Marvel Cinematic Universe the success that it is today. However, after working on 2019's Avengers: Endgame which concluded the Infinity Saga, Joe and Anthony Russo have seemingly distanced themselves from the billion-dollar franchise, at least for the time being.

These days, the Russos are busy directing and producing several film projects for different studios, including the live-action adaptation of the Disney classic Hercules to be helmed by filmmaking legend Guy Ritchie, the same director who worked on 2019's Aladdin.

When the project was first confirmed, Joe and Anthony revealed that they'll be taking a different approach to it and it won't be a faithful adaptation of the 1996 animated flick. Just recently, the MCU directing duo shared new details about their plans for the film.

Well, it's safe to say that the Avengers franchise directors aren't winning fans over with their apparent plans for the upcoming Disney adaptation. Joe and Anthony revealed that Hercules will draw massive inspiration from the short-form video-sharing platform TikTok.

While the application has gained widespread popularity over the last couple of years, fans are raising their eyebrows at the intriguing idea. Check out some of the reactions below:

As it stands, we're still not quite sure what they meant by Hercules being TikTok-inspired but to be fair, I think it's a little too early to place our judgment. Over the years, the Russos have proven that they have their fingers on the pulse so I'd definitely be willing to give this adaptation a chance.

Disney's live-action Hercules film has yet to set a release date.
