Disney Developing Villains TV Series For Disney+

Disney really has a lot planned for its upcoming streaming site. Not only is Marvel contributing to the site with upcoming series featuring heroes that never got their own standalone movies, but word has it that the Mickey Mouse House is going to bring together some of the most iconic Disney villains for their very own show.

According to a post by Production Weekly, word on the street has it that One Upon A Time director Steve Pearlman and Quantico's Michael Seitzman are currently working on a series titled Disney Villains. Littered with Disney baddies, the series is set to release on Disney+ with production slated for the second quarter of 2020 at Dublin, Ireland's Ardmore Studios.

Seeing Pearlman take on Disney Villains barely comes as a surprise to Mickey Mouse House fans. Once Upon A Time used to explore Disney's animated past and found live-action interpretations of popular villains like The Evil Queen from Cinderella, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, and Cruella de Ville from 101 Dalmatians.

However, right now we're not quite sure what Disney Villains might do to the popular baddies. Will it try to humanize villains like the Evil Queen? Will it see baddies like Ursula, Captain Hook, Hades, and Scar gather together to make a League of Villains?

Hopefully, Disney will have more details for us soon, though it's hard to say when the announcement might drop. After all, the studio has been busy with its upcoming live-action films for The Lion King, Dumbo, and Aladdin.

Aladdin premieres on May 25, 2019.
