The second season of The Mandalorian is finally here and there is little doubt that fans who tuned in for the premiere episode were happy about the surprises in Chapter 9. However, that doesn't mean there aren't any more huge things to look forward in Season 2 of the Star Wars series. Disney has just confirmed that Rosario Dawson is in fact playing the live-action version of Ahsoka Tano.
The revelation comes from a post on the Disney+ Hotstar Instagram account which answers fan questions about the new characters that will be introduced in The Mandalorian Season 2. For instance, it chose to remain coy about Sasha Banks' character in the Star Wars show. However, it does reveal the identity of Dawson's character.
"What does Ahsoka Tano's live action avatar look like? Rosario Dawson is set to play the famous Clone Wars Jedi," the post reads.
This is certainly a huge surprise for some although several reports have already suggested that Dawson will play the character. After all, the Luke Cage star's role has not been officially announced by Disney and Lucasfilm. Not surprisingly, the post was soon deleted.
For now, Dawson has not yet appeared in The Mandalorian Season 2. However, her role could eventually be revealed in the next few episodes of the second season.
The first episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 is titled Chapter 9: The Marshal. It is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
