Disney Allegedly Discussing New Star Wars Film Starring Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker's story may have ended along with the Skywalker Saga, but a new rumor suggests that we'll see more of the character in an allegedly new Star Wars film being discussed by Disney.

According to a rumor from YouTuber Overlord DVD, Disney is discussing a Luke Skywalker solo film that'll take place 10 years after Return of the Jedi and is set during The Mandalorian's timeline.

How this came to be is related to the rumor that Disney allegedly wants to erase the sequel trilogy. The YouTuber says there are 3 plans laid out to do so, with the second one featuring Luke. Instead of a movie set in the time of The Force Awakens, the outlet claims this plan "involves filming George Lucas' trilogy as a replacement for the sequel trilogy" which also lines up with his previous Veil of the Force rumor.

Apparently, recasting Luke Skywalker wouldn't be an option either, with the YouTuber claiming "if Mark Hamill wouldn't do the movie, they'd scrap it and move on to the third option." The third option is allegedly where Disney would go with Lucas' sequel trilogy without any of the old cast.

As exciting as it is to see Hamill reprise his role as Luke, this rumor isn't likely to happen, with the actor himself reiterating that he's officially done with Star Wars. Also, as always, take this rumor with the tiniest grain of salt, with even the YouTuber pointing out that "nothing is set in stone and all options are on the table."
