Scarlett Johansson officially ended her decade-long tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe last year with the release of her solo Black Widow film. The Phase Four film was received well by fans and critics but Natasha Romanoff's grand send-off was not without its fair share of controversies.
To give you a little refresher, Scarlett shockingly filed a lawsuit against Disney last year over the decision to give Black Widow a hybrid release on both cinemas and Disney+. According to the actress' camp, the scheme wasn't part of the House of Mouse's initial agreement with her and it shattered the film's box office potential, resulting in Johansson missing a massive MCU payday.
The drama lasted for over a month but ultimately, both parties were able to agree to a whopping $40 million settlement. Now, Disney CEO Bob Chapek is giving fans a promising update regarding the state of the company's working relationship with the Marvel star.
When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if he would've handled the situation differently, Chapek said: "There were a lot of people that got a vote in how we handled that. And I was one voice, and I’ll just say that our relationship with her agency and her has never been better."

Judging by Chapek's latest statement, it looks like they're once again open to doing a collaboration with the actress. While nothing official has been made, it pretty much indicates that ScarJo's return to the MCU just became a huge possibility. With the franchise in the midst of its latest saga, Natasha could very well be on her way back via multiversal shenanigans very soon.
Marvel Studios' Black Widow is streaming exclusively on Disney+.
