The newest Digimon anime finally opened in Japanese cinemas today. Meanwhile, fans in the US will only need to wait a bit longer to see it. Toei Animation announced that the Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning movie will hold its US theatrical premiere this November.
Along with the theatrical release, the new film also streamed its opening video that previewed the theme song.
Unlike other anime movies which are available in cinemas for a week or more, the new Digimon film will only be available in the US for two days. Thankfully, it will be available in hundreds of cinemas across the country.
Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning: 02 Series Finale
Digimon is a long-running franchise from Japan that is popular for its video game and anime projects.
Unlike Pokemon, where the goal is to catch them all, Digimon features characters that are typically partnered with just one digital monster.
Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning is the latest anime entry in the franchise, and it serves both as a sequel to the Last Evolution Kizuna movie, as well as the 02 TV series.

This video features the song Target ~Akai Shōgeki~ by Koji Wada, a Japanese singer who is a series mainstay. After all, he has performed numerous songs for the franchise’s various anime projects.
The Beginning might be a bit confusing for some in terms of how it fits into the timeline. What’s certain about the film is that it’s a follow-up to the original Digimon Adventure 02 anime series.
Watching the 2020 Kizuna movie is also recommended for fans given the recurring characters in both films.

Toei Animation Announces Digimon 02: The Beginning US Premiere Date
This new film was released in Japanese cinemas today. Fans in the US don’t have to worry about missing out though, as Toei Animation confirmed that the film will get a two-day release on November 8 and 9.
Specifically, the film’s US screenings will happen in over 700 cinemas across the country, with one screening happening each day in all locations.
The screening on November 8 will be of the film’s English dub. Then, the November 9 screening will be of the Japanese language version with English subtitles.
Given the limited screenings, it’s likely that the film will be released on home video or streaming sometime after its theatrical run.
