There is little doubt that fans are excited about Star Wars: Andor although we already have an idea of how it will end. Nevertheless, Diego Luna claims that working on the Cassian Andor series is almost like filming for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story all over again.
Luna recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter where he admitted that knowing Cassian's fate only makes the character more interesting.
"The way you can approach a story like this inevitably takes you into a deeper process of reflection," Luna said. "I tend to use that word a lot. So once you know what Cassian is capable of, then there's room for so much exploration, and that's something that excites me a lot as an actor."
He then added that Cassian's ultimate sacrifice in Rogue One will be given more depth in the series and he is truly happy to revisit the character.
"It's a very interesting challenge, the one we have in front of us. So I'm really excited to go back to that character because I really enjoyed playing him, and I was really happy with what the film represents. I feel blessed to have the chance to revisit this role," Luna said.
So will Andor use the same volume technology as The Mandalorian and other Star Wars shows right now? Luna stated that working on Andor is pretty similar to what they did for Rogue One.
"I have to be very careful in the way I answer everything. The way we're shooting this reminds me of how we shot the film, and the amount of work behind this TV series reminds me of the work you do for a film. It feels like we're doing a very long movie," he said.
This is great to hear and we're hoping to get a new teaser showing Cassian in action soon.
Star Wars: Andor has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
