Did You Catch This Neat Rebels Nod in Solo: A Star Wars Story?

While the main Star Wars films kind of ignore the expanded universe canon, Solo: A Star Wars Story is filled with neat nods, from name drops of characters as well as locations from Legends. What's cool is, the film actually has a neat Easter Egg related to the show Star Wars Rebels.

This comes from the trivia bank that is Star Wars Holocron on Twitter:

It's funny that Han would lie about owning a VCX and he bets it against Lando's Millennium Falcon since the Ghost is basically the Millennium Falcon of Rebels. The ships have a lot of similarities, from their size and appearance, plus the cockpit of the Ghost could very well be the Falcon's if it was just moved to the middle of the ship.

If you want to get into canon details, it's also worth noting that the VCX was also manufactured in Corellia, the same planet that makes Millennium Falcons (or YT-1300 light freighters for you nerds).

I guess when it comes to functionality, the Ghost may even trump the Falcon, seeing that it comes with an auxiliary starfighter The Phantom. Then again, the Ghost doesn't hold the same prestige as the galaxy's favorite hunk of junk.

For now, Rebels has ended, and Lucasfilm has no current plans for a Solo sequel anytime soon. Hopefully, with The Mandalorian coming out in November, there's a chance that Rebels could once again be referenced. I'd love to see a live-action version of the Ghost crew, but maybe Lucasfilm has other plans.

Catch The Mandalorian when it debuts on Disney+ which launches Nov. 12.
