The final season of the anime adaptation of Castlevania is here and there is little doubt that Season 4 gave the show an awesome conclusion. But did the series finale also tease at what will happen next? There is a possibility that the last episode hinted at Netflix's planned spin-off.
WARNING: The following contains SPOILERS from Castlevania Season 4! Proceed with caution!
The final season of Castlevania immediately confirmed that things weren't going so well for Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades as the regular demon-slaying has become too burdensome. Soon, they come across Zamfir, the head guard of Targoviste's Underground Court who takes them to her home so they can help fight night creatures.
Meanwhile, Alucard has been trying to keep people out of Dracula's castle but suddenly gets a message from the residents of Danestil who beg for his help. All this time, the vampire Varney seeks to resurrect Dracula while Carmilla schemes to take over the world.
The fourth season actually makes sure to tie up everybody's story perfectly. For instance, Hector works to redeem himself after betraying Dracula in the second season while Isaac found a new purpose in life. Moreover, Alucard was reunited with Trevor and Sypha and they all agreed to help build a village around Dracula's castle.
So is this the end? Interestingly, the last few minutes of the last episode titled It's Been A Strange Ride revealed that Saint Germain was successful in bringing Dracula and Lisa Tepes back from Hell and they were now free from Death's plans. As the two find a tavern to rest in, they discuss what they could do for their future.
It would be interesting to see more of Dracula and Lisa in the future and we'd love to find out what their new adventures will be. However, there are also speculations that the spin-off will focus on the other characters in the series. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
The final season of Castlevania is now streaming on Netflix.
