So far, in the Chainsaw Man anime, little is known about Denji’s parents. His unnamed father was known to have had a huge debt to the yakuza and eventually committed suicide. Meanwhile, it was briefly mentioned that his mom died of a heart condition. But beyond these, who were Denji’s parents in Chainsaw Man?
Will they be mentioned again as the story progresses? Is there something more about Denji's parents that we should know about?

Who Is Denji’s Mom?
Denji’s mother is unnamed in the series. No one knows what she looked like or what her personality was when she was alive. She was briefly mentioned in Chainsaw Man Chapter 1 when Denji coughed up blood.
He told Pochita that he inherited a heart condition from his mom and that she died while coughing blood. After that, no mention of her was ever made again.
The loss of his mom, and eventually his dad, might be the reason Denji does not have long-term plans or goals like most people do.
He is used to living in the moment and initially, not caring if he dies or not.

Who Is Denji’s Dad?
Like his mother, Denji’s dad is unnamed too, but before he died, it was said that he was violent to the point of nearly killing his own son. In the anime, fans knew him as someone who had a huge debt to the yakuza.
It's possible that Denji's father accumulated a huge amount of debt to provide for both of them or as a result of Denji’s mom having a heart condition.
On the other hand, most fans believe that it was because he was addicted to gambling and drinking alcohol.
As of now though, it is hard to tell what really happened so fans can only theorize.
But what we do know is that he eventually committed suicide and left Denji to pay off the rest of his debts.
It was later on revealed by Makima that Denji did, indeed, kill his own father in self-defense.
She also added that his father was an abusive alcoholic who used to take his frustrations out on his son.
The beatings got so bad that Denji had to protect himself, which in turn, made him kill his father.
What's more, the yakuza fabricated the lie about his father's suicide in order to make Denji pay off his debts by working for them.
Denji, being young at that time, repressed this memory, but it was Makima who triggered it in an attempt to control the Chainsaw Devil.
