The recent episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba left us hanging as Tanjiro and the others seem to be at their last straw in their fight against the Upper Rank demons, Gyutaro and Daki. How will they bounce back from this to ensure victory?
Here's everything you need to know for the next episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District arc!
Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 16 Recap
Hinatsuru makes a surprise attack by launching multiple kunai towards Gyutaro, hoping to make an opening for Tengen and Tanjiro. One kunai hits Gyutaro's neck, allowing Tengen to slice his legs and for Tanjiro to chop his head.
In a flashback at the Uzui family grave, Tengen and his wives pay respects to Tengen's siblings. He tells them he still thinks about his siblings constantly, and that's why he lives flashily — for the sake of his siblings.
Going back to the present, Gyutaro quickly regenerates his legs, so the Demon Slayers fail to finish him off. After Tengen and Gyutaro exchange attacks, Gyutaro disappears, and Daki's Belts attack Tengen.
Gyutaro suddenly shows up in front of Hinatsuru, but Tengen cannot approach them because of Daki. In another flashback, Hinatsuru tells everyone that they should retire after defeating an Upper Rank demon.
Tanjiro witnesses what's happening and ends up combining his Water Breathing and Hinokami Kagura techniques to save Hinatsuru from Gyutaro's grasp. As Gyutaro attacks Tanjiro, Tengen has a chance to attack from behind.
Meanwhile, Zenitsu and Inosuke are still busy fighting Daki. Inosuke is starting to get panicky since they just keep fending off Daki's Belts. However, Zenitsu knocks some sense back into him and reminds him to calm down.
Gyutaro stops Tengen and Tanjiro's blades from cutting his head. The Demon Slayers change their strategy — Tengen will fight Gyutaro while Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke take care of Daki. The three work together, and Inosuke successfully chops off Daki's head.
While Inosuke is running off with Daki's head, Gyutaro appears out of nowhere and stabs Inosuke's chest. Tanjiro looks for Tengen and notices he's lying on the ground with a hand chopped off. Daki's Belts unleash another attack, and Zenitsu tries to catch Tanjiro from falling off the roof.
