Deadpool Star Ryan Reynolds is Offering a $5000 Reward for a Lost Teddy Bear

While most celebrities tend to avoid social media, Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) is a frequent participant. Reynolds has been known to show support for charities from time to time, but now he's offering $5000 to anyone who can locate a lost teddy bear.

Here's Reynolds' post:

According to Yahoo! Entertainment, the bear actually belongs to 28-year-old Mara Soriano who had it stolen for her during a move to Vancouver. Security footage actually showed that the bag was indeed stolen and now Soriano is asking the internet to help retrieve one of her keepsakes of her mother, who had died of cancer last year. "At hospice her voice was different. Much softer. Not the mom I grew up with," said Soriano. "That bear is the last memory I have of her speaking in her normal voice. She said that she loved me and she was proud of me and that she'll always be with me."

Though Reynolds may be playing an anti-hero in the form of Deadpool, it's actually great that he would show some Canadian solidarity and try to help find the bear. While the original post only earned close to 50k likes, Reynolds had boosted the likes to 326.5k likes—hopefully we get news on that lost bear soon.

As for Reynolds, everyone is hoping that he returns as Wade Wilson sooner rather than later, but we don't have any official update on that yet. You can catch him in Free Guy which is set to come out this Dec. 11.
