Deadpool Fan Nabs Avengers: Endgame Through Domain Name Trade With Marvel

It looks like a cunning little Deadpool fan managed to nab tickets to Avengers: Endgame by trading a domain name to Marvel.

Studios used to put up websites to help promote their upcoming films, however, the focus has shifted on social media with studios relying on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to help promote their new movies. Because Marvel has been focusing on its various social media accounts to promote its most highly anticipated film of the year, a Marvel fan decided to go ahead and purchase the domain name "avengersendgame.com."

It was a neat little tirck, because when Marvel Studios wanted the domain name for itself, the fan decided to trade it with tickets to the global premiere of the film.

Marvel was glad to give the tickets away. Taking to Twitter, the fan posted a screenshot of the Endgame premiere invitation that he got in his email earlier today. Though the email address and date of the premiere are redacted, the email seems pretty legit, giving away the protocol for attending the event asking him to either cosplay or to "come in your best AVENGERS ENDGAME or MCU-themed attire."

"I guess this means I need to stop harassing [directors the Russo brothers] online, every day. For the past four months. Sorry, fellas. Buy you a beer at the premiere?" the fan wrote in a follow-up tweet.

Pretty clever trick, if you ask us. The domain name ownership became viral last year when other fans discovered that visiting the site would redirect them to Deadpool 2 instead.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
