Deadpool Creator Rob Liefeld Says He’s ‘Assessed’ Marvel’s Top-Secret MCU Schedule

Last week, Deadpool comic book creator Rob Liefeld was busy complaining about Marvel neglecting Deadpool 3.

Today, the comic book writer claims that he knows what Marvel Studios has planned for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking in an interview with io9 to clarify his comments about the Merc with a Mouth over at Marvel, Liefeld detailed his knowledge of the MCU. It seems like the comic book writer knows what the studio has planned for the next five years – unfortunately, Deadpool isn't part of it.

"Regardless of whatever inside perspective I may have, what I do know is that until a movie is put on a schedule, it's not taken seriously," Liefeld told the entertainment news outlet, "And what people don't like is that I have assessed the schedule for the next, give or take, five years and I don't see Deadpool on it. (So) I don't see that it can arrive earlier than that."

If Liefeld is right then that means that we won't be getting Deadpool 3 or any other movie with Deadpool in it during Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Of course, as easy as it is to believe Liefeld, fans have to take the comic book writer's little reveal with a grain of salt. Marvel keeps a close guard on its plans for the MCU – many of the people working directly on the movies in the Marvel film franchise don't even know what the studio has planned beyond any of the official announcements.

Disney still has a few untitled Marvel Studios release dates through 2023. Perhaps one of those release dates belongs to Deadpool 3. Let's wait and see.
