After troubling news that Tim Miller left the project due to creative differences, Deadpool 2 is officially moving forward. We've been getting news like Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz being cast as Cable and Domino, but now we have a villain in the form of actor Jack Kesy.
According to Deadline, it's still unsure which villain Kesy is playing in the movie, but some have been lead to believe that he's playing Black Tom Cassidy.
In the comics, Cassidy is the cousin of X-man Banshee who has the power to manipulate plant life. Though Black Tom is usually known as an X-Men villain, it certainly won't be weird to see him clash with the likes of Deadpool.
Some part of me is thinking that Black Tom is just a pawn in some grander scheme. We were teased about the Essex Corps in the most recent X-Men films, and we still have no idea just who Ajax was working for in the first Deadpool movie. Maybe Deadpool 2 is ready to answer those questions.
Ryan Reynolds returns as the Merc with the Mouth along with Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, TJ Miller as Weasel, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead are also set to return.
Deadpool 2 is set for a release on June 1, 2018.
