There's a new Deadpool 2 rumor about the casting of Cable in the highly-anticipated superhero sequel starring Ryan Reynolds, and it has got a lot of fans raising eyebrows. The beefy time-traveling mutant will fight alongside The Merc With The Mouth, and if this one tweet ends up being true, Brad Pitt might be in talks for the role.
The Editor-in-chief of Tracking Board Jeff Sneider tweeted an article from his website before saying, "Will be interesting to see if Brad Pitt plays Cable. In the meantime, sounds like Sony is working on a Spider-Man sequel."
Fans are aware that the tease was shared on a tweet rather than a whole article, but Sneider's link to the industry has the fans online wondering if Pitt is actually being considered for the role.
20th Century Fox hasn't officially confirmed if Pitt or any other actor are being considered for the Cable role, but the writers of the sequel told Comicbook that they will announce the shortlist soon.
Fans might be taken aback if Pitt ends up playing Cable because of his star power and that he didn't have any previous superhero roles but he does have a lot of experience with budget films like Fight Club and Inglorious Basterds.
Deadpool 2 is expected to release in theaters next year.
