HBO Max has been making DC fans pretty happy recently, with the announcement of a new Green Lantern series and now a sci-fi show called Strange Adventures, based on the comic book of the same name. It seems like HBO Max will be the home to many of DC's cosmic heroes, which is pretty cool, though one has to wonder if these shows will make DC Universe feel obsolete.
Greg Berlanti, who is responsible for shows like Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, will help produce Strange Adventures, which appear to be about Adam Strange. HBO described the series as a series that will "explore close-ended morality tales about the intersecting lives of mortals and superhumans." Considering how Adam loves his time in space and tends to stay there longer than on Earth, we wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the lead.
We're going to assume that this version of Strange will be different from the one that appeared in the two seasons-long Krypton, though it would be a nice bit of continuity if they get that actor. For now, most of us are just enjoying the fact that we're going to be getting more DC shows in the future, which tend to be better than their movies (sorry DCEU fans).
No other details were released about Strange Adventures so don't expect a release date anytime soon. Fans do have a 12-issue Strange Adventures series to look forward to, which is scheduled to come out sometime in 2020 from Batman writer Tom King, regular collaborator Mitch Gerards, and the uber-talented Evan Shaner.
