DC’s New Timeline Is Going To Make Wonder Woman The First Superhero

Wonder Woman has always been a major DC hero, but ever since Gal Gadot appeared on the big screen as Diana Prince, the Amazonian Princess has seen a meteoric rise in popularity.

Now it looks like DC Comics is acknowledging Wonder Woman's reception in pop culture by retconning the entire DC Universe to officially reintroduce Diana as the very superhero of DC.

DC's Dan Didio went up on a panel during this year's New York Comic-Con 2019 (via ComicBook.com) and apparently the publishing is planning to release a new timeline that will bring readers back to the Golden Age where Wonder Woman serves as the major influence that sparks the modern heroic age.

"DC will release an official new DC Timeline which will establish Wonder Woman as the first superhero of the Golden Age, and her arrival in America as key to the establishment of the Justice Society of America," Didio said at the DC Nation panel at the convention

According to DC, Wonder Woman is going to be the first superhero to arrive in America right after the launch of the Justice Society of America. In the old timeline, It was Superman who was the first hero of the second generation of heroes.

"We're reintroducing aspects of our history back into it with the return of the Justice Society of America, all the way to the Legion of Super-Heroes," Didio explained.

It looks like the future really is female, especially for the new timeline of the DC Comic Universe. We can't wait to see the new run and how closer everything will fit with Wonder Woman in the DCEU.
