It's been rumored for quite some time now that the DC Extended Universe is set to usher in a new era after The Flash which will reportedly hit the reset button on the polarizing franchise. Now, nothing has been officially confirmed yet but according to insider reports, Batgirl and Superman will be replacing their male counterparts as the new leaders of the Justice League as Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill exit the DCEU for good.
Speaking of Barbara Gordon, it appears that the premiere of the anticipated film centered on one of Batman's most trusted allies has been delayed despite the fact that production for the project wrapped earlier this year.
According to a new press listing (The Direct), Batgirl's release date has been pushed back to 2023. A release schedule Warner Bros. sent out of the press over in the United Kingdom has officially listed the project for a theatrical release next year. However, the exact date was not mentioned.

It's worth noting that it was previously reported that the DCEU film, originally set to premiere exclusively on HBO Max could have a new release strategy as per WB's directive.
Now, we've yet to confirm if the said listing is only intended for the UK but the idea of Batgirl hitting cinemas sounds great and if WB and DC Films are truly committed to reestablishing their failed universe, they need to make this project a huge deal. Obviously, a theatrical release is the only way to go.
We'll keep you posted regarding news about Batgirl's new release date.
