DC fans might have different opinions on who exactly has been the perfect live-action Batman on the big screen, but according to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck's version of the Dark Knight is the one for him.
Snyder just recently took to Vero to post a few Batman photos of Affleck and his stunt double, Richard Cetrone. Though the images didn't really give away anything new, the director's caption caught the eye of the DC fanbase, declaring Affleck as the "perfect Batman" after explaining to his followers that he was transferring some of his old computer files to his brand new PC.
When Warner Brothers first announced that they had cast Affleck as the DCEU's new Caped Crusader, fans were divided. Some didn't really believe that Affleck could pull off the role, comparing the actor to Christian Bale who had worn the Dark Knight's cowl in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. However, fans were wowed by his debut performance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Sure the film might not have been as critically-acclaimed as one would hope, but most fans and critics agreed that Affleck's Batman was one of the best things about the comic book movie.
Despite the positive reviews, Affleck's future in the DCEU remains fairly uncertain. There have been contradicting reports about Affleck's involvement in the franchise all-throughout the year. One day news outlets say that Affleck plans to leave the DCEU, the next day reports come back in saying that the actor plans on staying.
We'll just have to wait and see what Warner Brothers has planned for their Dark Knight.
The DCEU's latest film, Aquaman, is currently screening in cinemas.
