DC: Wonder Woman Video Game in Development With Monolith Productions

Last game awards, December 2021, DC shared surprising news, especially for the Wonder Woman fans. DC is developing a new video game with Monolith Productions; ‘a single-player open-world adventure game’ that will tell the original story of Diana of Themyscira, in uniting her Amazon family and humanity of the modern world.

Many DC superheroes have conquered the gaming industry like Batman: Arkham City, Superman, Justice League heroes, and of course the anticipated Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

Wonder Woman, one of the main pillars of the DC Universe has not yet gotten much exposure compared to Batman and Superman in the gaming world. With the said announcement, fans can’t wait to get their hands or even get more information about the game.

The game is being developed by Warner Bros together with Monolith Productions, the studio behind the best-selling fantasy game ‘Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War.’ The Wonder Woman game is said to follow Middle Earth’s Nemesis System which will surely give the game an interesting story.

To further explain the Nemesis System, this system ables the players to decide on the narrative of the game. The players will be in full control and the enemies and characters will evolve and move in reaction towards your decision.

Monolith Productions Vice President and Studio Head David Hewitt discussed their plans with Nemesis system in the Wonder Woman video game:

“At Monolith Productions, we believe in the power of player-driven storytelling to unite people. The stories our players share inspire us every day, and we are honored to take players on a unique personal journey, driven by the values embodied in Wonder Woman. The Nemesis System raised the bar for player-driven storytelling and we’re excited to push the open-world genre forward, combining cutting-edge action with inventive narratives to create a Wonder Woman game everyone will want to play.”

This gaming system is still complicated and we are still clueless about how this will affect the overall gaming experience for the Wonder Woman Video game.

Although the only thing we know is the genre and the system it will use, we still don't have enough details about the video game. What we can assume is that the game will be available for PS5, Xbox, and PC. The release date still remains unknown.
