DC Wins Over Marvel In Recent Search Data Study

The rivalry between DC and Marvel has been running for years with fans bickering over which franchise is better than the other. Now, it looks like we have a winner.

Sure, Marvel might have been dominating the movie industry with its uber-successful Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, a new study reveals that DC is actually more popular when it comes to the comic book universe.

According to a new study done by USDish.com, DC is dominating the comic book industry. Using Google Trends to find out which comic book brand has a better hold in the United States, the site's findings show poll numbers that reveal DC Comics being favored about Marvel in 32 US states. Marvel was able to rake in 14 states. The rest couldn't decide.

But that's not all. DC Comics also came out as the winner when the site tried to compare the popularity of individual heroes. Among 29 states, Superman was the most favored, Hulk and Supergirl came in second, while Thor and Batman came in third.

Of course, the results of the poll shouldn't come as a surprise. Sure, the DC Extended Universe has had a rocky start with films like Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, most comic book readers would say that DC's always had the upper hand when it comes to comics and television.

What do you think of this study? Does it echo with the general consensus regarding Marvel and DC comics? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
