Due to the coronavirus pandemic, large gatherings aren't advisable now, especially for the foreseeable future. Because of this, movie studios are looking for other ways to connect with the fans and deliver updates. With the San Diego Comic-Con set for an at Home Event, DC is reportedly planning to host a similar event as well.

According to GWW, DC has plans to host a free multimedia virtual fan experience currently titled "DC FanDome." Rumored to take place on August 22, the event promises to provide new announcements ranging from games, film, TV, and comic books.

The outlet claims current titles are also expected to be featured at the event, along with virtual appearances from cast and creators from films The Batman, Black Adam, The Suicide Squad, and Wonder Woman 1984 as well as TV series Titans, Doom Patrol, and Stargirl.

Not only that, but the global event will allegedly feature anticipated announcements and exclusive footage as well. Special presentations will be optional to the user, a "virtual con" where fans are able to participate in events that have been specifically localized for their region.

With SDCC set to begin a month before the alleged FanDome event, DC could be skipping the comic-con event this year or they'd save big announcements for the FanDome event and the rest for the latter.

The rumored DC FanDome event will reportedly take place on August 22, accessible for a 24-hour period starting at 10 a.m. PDT.
