The DC Universe may have undergone some drastic changes over the years but one thing will always remain the same — Batman will always be presented as a grounded character and it's arguably his sole characteristic that has drawn millions of comic book fans to the caped crusader for generations.

Shockingly enough, it turns out that even the world's greatest detective isn't exempted from going through creative changes, and with the entire comic book industry embracing diversity and inclusivity for quite some time now, Bruce Wayne seems to be following suit.

We all know for a fact that the heir of Wayne Enterprises is a bonafide ladies' man, but DC Comics may have just hinted that he also fancies the opposite sex. In Batman: The Knight #5, it was strongly hinted that Bruce Wayne may actually be bisexual. The said issue features a moment where Bruce approaches a fellow trainee named Anton.

The two were seemingly sharing an intimate moment and were about to lock lips before being interrupted. Of course, this one is always up to one's interpretation. Check out the panel below:

It's an intriguing take for sure and a surprising one at that, especially considering we've always associated Batman and Bruce Wayne with different female love interests through the years. And while the said comic didn't exactly confirm his "bisexuality", it would be safe to assume that DC Comics is testing the waters for a possible reimagining of the character.

Now, whether or not the fandom embraces Bruce's updated sexual orientation remains to be seen but I'm pretty sure it will raise a lot of eyebrows.

Speaking of Batman, Matt Reeves' The Batman is now streaming on HBO Max.
