DC Reportedly Giving Up on Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Thomas Wayne Batman for The Flash

DC fans may be eager to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan play the Batman in Warner Brother's upcoming DC Extended Universe movie The Flash, however, there are rumors going around saying that Flashpoint Batman may not come to fruition.

Two different sources have been offering new updates on The Flash movie, and both seem to doubt Morgan's appearance as Thomas Wayne Batman.

According to a report by YouTube personality and reviewer Grace Randolph, insiders have told her that Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Thomas Wayne is out of the equation. Instead, Warner Brothers is reportedly planning to have Michael Keaton play Batman from Tim Burton's movies.

The second report comes from Cinema Blend. The entertainment news outlet just recently spoke with The Flash director Andy Muschietti and the publication couldn't help but ask about the return of Morgan's Thomas Wayne.

"We were in London for Birds of Prey, and randomly ran into Andy Muschietti outside our hotel. We chatted, and he mentioned working on Flashpoint. I asked him is Jeffrey Dean would return. He smiled and said, 'We actually have a different idea,'" Cinema Blend writer Sean O'Connell wrote in a tweet.

This may come as a major disappointment to DCEU fans. Though his appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was brief, viewers were eager to see Morgan return as Thomas Wayne Batman in a Flashpoint movie.

It looks like Muschietti is opting for something different, perhaps with Keaton as Thomas Wayne instead. Such a shame – Morgan seemed perfect for the role.

The Flash movie is set for release on June 2, 2022.
