DC Partners Up With Rooster Teeth For RWBY and gen:LOCK Comic Books

Rooster Teeth is the company that a lot of internet channels look up to and who could blame them? An entertainment studio that started out as an internet channel that made silly videos, Rooster Teeth has been responsible for some of the most entertaining animated programs in some time, with their hit series RWBY gaining so much popularity that Japan ended up dubbing it for the country.

It seems like RWBY and gen:LOCK, two of Rooster Teeth's more popular properties are coming to the comic book realm, with the help of DC Comics.

Announced during New York Comic Con, these will be the first time Rooster Teeth will have properties made into Western comic books. While RWBY does have Manga, having a comic book tie-in from DC of all companies is still a pretty big deal. Depending on your bias, DC is either the number one or number two company.

During NYCC, Rooster Teeth did say that their other properties could get the comic book treatment, RWBY and gen:LOCK are the current priorities. No creative teams for these comics have been announced, though that will likely change in the coming months and/or weeks.

Seeing gen:LOCK get a comic series is somewhat surprising since the actual program has yet to be released. It does have an all-star cast, with Michael B. Jordan, Dakota Fanning, David Tennant, and Maisie Williams, so that has attracted plenty of curious fans.

RWBY, on the other hand, is rising in popularity and is about to have its sixth season. The characters from this series have also appeared in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, a crossover fighting game that stars fighters from BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, and Under Night In-Birth. RWBY's inclusion was a nice surprise and showed just how popular the series has been.

No release dates for these comic books have been released.
