There was a whole lot of excitement over at DC earlier today. Warner Brothers just recently released the highly anticipated trailer for Joker, a movie starring Academy Award-nominated actor Joaquin Phoenix.
The DC Extended Universe has had a pretty hard time getting off the ground with films like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, so it's come as a pleasant (but not unexpected) surprise to see the overwhelming potential of the Joker movie in its trailer.
Gotham's Crown Prince of Crime is one of the most iconic villains in the DC Universe, and his backstory isn't all that of a secret. However, despite the fact that there've been many other actors who've already given memorable performances as the Joker( like Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger), it's pretty clear that Phoenix has so much to add to the character.
Taking to Twitter, DC fans rave about the trailer for the Joker, calling the video both mesmerizing and amazing. Fans' also talk about Phoenix's performance, saying that the actor looks nothing short of phenomenal. Some even claim that the actor could very well outdo Ledger, becoming the best Joker in cinematic history.

The only problem with the film is that Joker's origin has been explored so many different times. We're hoping that Joker manages to give a fresh take on the Clown Prince of Crime, though we're pretty sure that the film won't have any problem in doing just that.
The Joker is set for release on October 4, 2019.
