DC Comics Publisher Jim Lee Teases The DCEU’s New Movies


DC fans aren't the only ones excited for the DC Extended Universe's upcoming releases.

DC Comics publisher Jim Lee attended the C2E2 this weekend, and during his panel (via Heroic Hollywood) the Korean American comic book artist, writer, editor and publisher shared his excitement over some of the DCEU's upcoming titles, namely Batman and Suicide Squad.

Lee teased the cinematic projects that DC's preparing for release in the near future, reminding fans of films like Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad, Batman, and Black Adam. All of these films are in different stages of development right now, but that doesn't mean that fans should be any less excited for the upcoming movies. Lee also couldn't help but be excited for 2021, a year when DC is going to have three theatrical releases.

"We've been working on the slate. We have an amazing Batman movie, Suicide Squad is just killer, and Black Adam next year. These are all just next year with Wonder Woman '84, which has tremendous momentum from the first movie that was amazing. So there's a lot of great positive things happening as that universe continues to move on," Lee told fans in his panel.

During his panel, Lee also took a moment to thank Walter Hamada who's been President of DC films starting 2018.

"I think next year will be the first time ever that we'll have three theatrical releases in one year. And Walter Hamada's in charge of DC Films. He's a great partner," the comic book writer said, "Loves DC. Super creative. Great relationships with filmmakers. So we're very positive and hopeful for the future of the DC Extended Universe."

There's a whole lot of excitement over DC's new slate of movies. The films that Warner Brothers has lined up for the DCEU is one of the most diverse yet, featuring the work of directors from different backgrounds.

The first DC movie to premiere this year has been Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. The next is Wonder Woman 1984 which is set to premiere on June 5, 2020.
