Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is one of the highly-anticipated films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe slated for 2023. The film will reunite Paul Rudd's Ant-Man and Evangeline Lily's The Wasp after their recent involvement in the Avengers: Endgame. While details about the film remain undisclosed aside from the release date, fans wondered if Scott Lang's hilarious crew will also be back for the third Ant-Man film.

While Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania plot details remain scarce at this point, the film is reportedly still in its filming process after new set images spotted Rudd as Scott Lang in Los Angeles. Aside from Rudd and Lily's titular characters, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer will also be back as Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, and the fan-beloved Michael Peña's Luis, who's known for his iconic narrations throughout the Ant-Man franchise will also be back for the third film.

However, it looks like Luis is the only confirmed character from Scott Lang's ex-convict friends who will make it into the project. At the Moon Knight's red carpet premiere, David Dastmalchian confirms with Screen Rant that he won't be returning in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While the actor didn't fully reveal the reason for his exclusion from the film, Dastmalchian says he is still waiting for a call. Despite that, the actor still looks forward to seeing the film:

"It doesn't look like it... But that's okay. I know they're making something incredible. I can't wait to see what Peyton does next. He's one of my favorite directors... He's been so busy. I have tried to stay in touch, but he's making an incredible film right now."

Well, that's bad news for fans who are expecting to see the hilarious interactions from Scott Lang and his ex-convict friends just like from the previous films. But it's still not too late for Dastmalchian to get a call from Marvel, especially after the actor was spotted in the upcoming Moon Knight series red carpet premiere.

If ever Dastmalchian won't really make it to the cut of the third Ant-Man film, the reason might point out the movie's complex story. Now that Jonathan Majors' Kang The Conqueror is confirmed to be the big bad for the upcoming threequel, the reason why Dastmalchian along with the other ex-convict friends of Lang's didn't make it to the film is that there are going to be a lot of time-traveling element in the film, which his crew can no longer follow.
