Dave Filoni On The Pressure Of Creating The Final Season Of Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Hearts might have broken after Star Wars Rebels finally came to an end earlier this year, however, series showrunner Dave Filoni managed to lift everyone's spirits up by confirming the return of Star Wars: The Clone Wars for one final season during the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con International last month.

Now, speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com, Filoni opens up about the new pressure he has to deal with crafting new stories for the final season of the well-loved Star Wars animated series, saying that he wants to make something amazing for the fans who've grown up with The Clone Wars.

"With Clone Wars, I will say there is a bit of pressure because, obviously from [the reaction to the new season], the people loved it. I mean, they grew up with it. It was massive," Filoni admitted. "So I do feel the pressure of wanting to make something amazing for them, and I challenge myself to not take the easy outs in the story and not do simple things."

There were a lot of Star Wars fans who followed The Clone Wars series. Meant for a generation of young audiences, The Clone Wars served as a starting point for many children to get into Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away because it explored the events that happened between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Focusing on the adventures of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano, The Clone Wars was a great place to start for any burgeoning Star Wars fan. Knowing how much fans loved the series, it's understandable that Filoni would feel so much pressure to give a great end to The Clone Wars.

Let's wait and see what Filoni has planned for everyone when the final season of The Clone Wars makes its way to Disney's streaming service next year.
