Dave Bautista Will Finish Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Out of Contractual Obligation

Even with the unusual radio silence from Disney, it looks like the company will be putting its foot down and not rehiring James Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, at least as of this writing. Nothing in regards to Gunn's reinstatement has been released and the studio will likely replace him with one of their other directors, with rumors claiming The Russo Brothers and Taika Waititi are possible choices.

The cast has already made their feelings clear when it comes to how they feel about Gunn but it looks like Dave Bautista has more to say. On Twitter, Bautista revealed that he would be staying and finishing Guardians Vol. 3 out of contractual obligations. However, he did point out how it was "nauseating" to work for a company that would empower the wishes of a group of cyber-nazis.

While he could always prove everyone wrong, it looks like Bautista won't be resigning his contract after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, assuming it ends after that movie. No one can blame him since Gunn was the man who chose Bautista for the role of Drax the Destroyer, which basically made his career. If not for that, people would only know him as a former WWE Champion.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was supposed to start filming in 2019 but Gunn's firing will likely affect Disney and Marvel's plans.
