I think we can all agree that Marvel Studios struck gold with the Guardians of the Galaxy film franchise but despite two successful films and an upcoming third sequel and spinoff projects under its belt, director James Gunn has made it clear that Volume 3 will mark the last time we'll ever see the intergalactic heroes together. In fact, he has constantly expressed his desire to leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe altogether after he's done working on the next GOTG film.

Now, actor Dave Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer in the billion-dollar franchise is sounding off on the potential of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 being the final rodeo for him, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, and Karen Gillan. Speaking with Phase Zero's Brandon Davis, the former WWE superstar talked about Drax's journey in the MCU and how he's looking forward to wrapping everything up.

Bautista explains: "It's our third film, we're gonna wrap it up. And it's been a hell of a journey with a few bumps. So, I'm looking forward to this, man. My cast and obviously the director, James Gunn, they're like family to me."

He continued: "This is kind of where my journey started. It's come full circle and I'm looking forward to wrapping it up. And it's bittersweet. I mean, I've been doing Guardians since 2013. And, you know, when this comes out, it'll be in 2023, so that's a, you know, 10-year journey. You know, all things must end. And, you know, I'm looking forward to kind of wrapping this up with my friends and family."

As much as we'd all love to see the Guardians continue their space adventures in the MCU, if James Gunn feels like it's time to hit that shutdown button, there's really nothing we can do about it. But hey, when you think about it, there's nothing to be sad about because they had a pretty good run.

The MCU's third Guardians of the Galaxy film is scheduled to hit cinemas on May 5, 2023.
