I think it's safe to say that the intention of Marvel Studios' Disney+ expansion is not only to create a venue for more storylines to progress but to also put the focus on characters that weren't given much time to shine in their own films and when you think about it, there are loads of characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that would benefit from getting their own standalone series.

Take for example a character like Drax the Destroyer played by Dave Bautista in the Guardians of the Galaxy film series. I've always seen him as one of the most underrated heroes in the MCU but he's always been presented and dare I say reduced to being a comic relief guy which is a shame because I feel like he has a lot more to offer.

As much as a standalone series sounds enticing, the actor apparently isn't thrilled about starring in his own Disney+ series and he has a valid reason for not accepting the project should Marvel Studios offer it to him. In an interview with JoBlo, the former WWE superstar explained that returning to play the character for a show that would require him to film longer would be a nightmare.

He said: "Honestly, if they offered me a series, I wouldn't do it. Not a chance in hell would I do a TV series playing Drax. That is a make-up nightmare. I would be miserable. Yeah, that make-up isn't fun. It's awful, so I'm not gonna sign up to do a series where I'm in that make-up every day."

Now, I wouldn't exactly fault Batista for having second thoughts as the process of him putting his prosthetics on sure looks grueling. On the flip side, you gotta give the man credit for actually going through all the hassle when he can easily rely on CGI magic. Going back to the Drax, I'm hopeful that the third Guardians film will give Bautista some character development and present Drax as a more badass hero.
