Drax the Destroyer isn't seen by many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a formidable hero and more often than not, he's considered the weakest link of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Actor Dave Bautista is pretty much aware of that fact and he's recently expressed his disappointment with how Marvel Studios has been handling his character all these years.
Apparently, the former WWE superstar's frustrations with the company go further back and according to him, he doesn't quite understand why the studio never pulled the trigger on a proper Drax vs Thanos feud in the MCU given their storied history. To give you a little refresher, the Mad Titan is responsible for the death of Drax's family and as early as the first Guardians film, Drax has made his agenda clear that he wants to kill Thanos.
Obviously, Marvel had other plans in mind but it still doesn't sit well with "The Animal". Taking to Twitter, Bautista addressed the rumors about him leaving the billion-dollar franchise for good after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by criticizing Marvel Studios anew. The Army of the Dead star believes that the Drax and Thanos' history has continuously been "swept under the rug" by the studio for reasons still unclear to him.

I guess Dave has more courage to speak his mind now that he's reportedly on his way out of the MCU but when you think about it, he raises a pretty valid argument. For the longest time, Drax has always been portrayed as comic relief and while I see nothing wrong with it, it's a shame that Marvel never used the character properly and he's one of those guys who never lived up to their potential. Of course, GOTG Vol. 3 can pretty much change that but I guess it's a little too late.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled for release on May 5, 2023.
