A lot of people were disappointed about Disney's decision to fire James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but none have been as vocal as Guardians actor Dave Bautista. Mike Cernovich was said to have been one of the catalysts as to Gunn getting fired, and now Bautista is calling out Disney with this video of Cernovich boasting about ruining someone's career with a fake smear campaign.
In the video, Cernovich boasts about ruining a journalist's career with a fake smear campaign, and even goes on to brag about not caring about the outcome of his actions. He boasts, ‘Nobody does a hit piece like I can do,' and says that the truth won't matter once public opinion is turned on his targets.
For now, it seems that only Disney has been swayed this time. Thousands of people have gone to show their support to Gunn online, but after a petition and several pleas from the Guardians actors themselves, Disney has refused to budge.
News had just come out that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been put on hold; which I think isn't necessarily a bad thing. Maybe Marvel Studios is waiting for this whole issue to die down, and when the timing is right, they restart the project again with Gunn at the helm.
But that's just my wishful thinking.
